Paul poses a great question. We focus on "reading for pleasure" and what
about "writing for pleasure?"

In a similar vein, Paul's post reminds me of research our Center came across
from the 1970's that took court mandated clients (juveniles, adult
probationers, etc) and placed them in "helping" roles. We all know the goodness to
helping and how much it can do for anyone (in some cases, it's might be the ONLY
remedy for what ails a person) yet so much programming turns youth into
passive recipients rather than active givers.

I love Search as they were some of the first to resurrect this idea of
active giving.

Seems there are similarities for creating writing and making contributions
as well as the effort of absorbing and reading. Both seem helpful.

Hope you are all well. I've missed posting and interacting these last few
months.

Regards,
Mike Clark
