HCHY List: two online courses

Almost free, offered by the FRIENDS National Resource Center for
Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention.  The first one appears bit
basic.  Both are perhaps more program oriented than some HCHY endeavors
are, but they could still be useful.  

 

What is the cost to access this training?
FRIENDS provides this training to CBCAP State Lead Agencies for free.
If you have misplaced your information, please contact your T/TA

Others can access the training for $10 a credit hour.  Payment
arrangements are made on the FRIENDS Online Learning Center Site.

 

The FRIENDS National Resource Center for Community-Based Child Abuse
Prevention recently announced that the following courses have been added
to the FRIENDS Online Learning Center:

Protective Factors: Strengthening Families and Preventing Child Abuse
and Neglect
This training was developed for those interested in learning how
protective factors can be used to strengthen families and prevent child
abuse and neglect. The course will illustrate the difference between
focusing on risk factors and using protective factors in child
maltreatment prevention, review the five protective factors that
research has shown to reduce the risks of child abuse and neglect, and
identify strategies that can be used to partner more effectively with
families and promote protective factors. 

Continuous Quality Improvement
For any program to provide the best possible services to children and
families, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities must be
intentionally integrated into all aspects of service planning and
delivery. This training will build on what you already know about CQI
and what you are doing towards creating a CQI environment in your
agency. It will also help you identify the elements needed to develop
and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement in family support and child
abuse prevention programs.
